‘What has happened to me?’
One morning, as Gregor Samsa was
waking up from anxious dreams, he discovered that in his bed he had transformed
into a gigantic insect.
Scene Productions presents
a brand new 60
minute adaptation of Franz Kafka’s ever popular novel, mixing mirth, mayhem and
the macabre.
A classic piece of physical theatre
with three actors using masks, extensive multi-roling, shadow imagery, puppetry,
choreographed movement sequences, mime, narration, audience interaction and
simple props to tell the metaphorical nightmare of a world where man is
transformed through work into something terrifyingly non human.
‘This production has a dreamlike
quality, powerfully evoked by immaculately slick, highly imaginative physical
theatre. Gloriously grotesque, innovative theatre influenced by Brecht, Berkoff
and Artaud, but not enslaved to any of them at its most
watchable’. (THE STAGE)
‘A neat, fast paced and clever
production’ (INK PELLET)
‘The performances are stunning and the
set pieces beautifully choreographed’ ***** (BESTOFTHEFEST.co.uk)
