This hilarious musical comedy follows the story of LiLotta
VaVoom, an aspiring showgirl in New Orleans, Louisiana. Set in 1941 on the
backdrop of the Second World War and the Great Depression, the tale not only
tells of LiLotta's quest for stardom but also explores political and feminist
themes from then and now. Under the watchful eyes of Grandma NoNo and Wally,
LiLotta and her best friend, Melody, clash over ideas about motherhood and
career as LiLotta’s star is beginning to rise. LiLotta is forced to make a
difficult decision between the familiar path and the long road to fortune and
fame. Steadfast Stanley, BBC reporter, snipes at fresh faced Muddy Mack
regarding American intervention in the war. The infectiously upbeat, all
original score makes the show a whirlwind of sequined costumes, smarmy
magicians, vengeful chorus girls and plotting stagehands, sure to make any
audience want to sing along.
